You don't need to know the placement of hyphens or spaces in a word or phrase, or whether it is spelled with a capital letter or contains an accented letter, in order to look it up.

The online search facility automatically considers words and phrases that would match what you're looking for, even when they contain capitals, accents, hyphens, or spaces. So you don't need to know whether renaissance-style is actually hyphenated in the Dictionary to be able to find it, even when it is part of a compressed list:
